Wisdom teeth is a version molar. Мolars - the chewing teeth located latest in back area of the mouth. A chewing teeth of the person is subdivided into the first, the second and the third molars.

Other types of immersing (their frequencies specified here on degree in medical practice) - a teeth with vertical immersing, horizontal immersing.
The shipped wisdom teeth is subdivided not only in an immersing direction - medial, vertical, horizontal. These teeth also shares on a teeth with fabric and bone immersing. The term means "bone immersing", that the wisdom tooth is in a jaw bone. "Fabric immersing" says that the wisdom tooth has passed through a bone - but could not pass completely through gums.
Why a wisdom teeth grows incorrectly?
In many modern theories it is supposed, that infringement of a teething of wisdom occurs for the reason, that the normal human jaw for them is too small, and places in it for these teeth insufficiently. Explain it to that is less a than jaw of the modern person, than jaws of our prehistoric ancestors, - because food we eat softer which does not need to be chewed the big and strong teeth.
Authors of these theories also consider, that as the mankind continues to develop and evolve, in the future there can come such time when people simply will not have wisdom teeth. Even presently often enough there are people at whom a wisdom teeth sprouted in number of 1-2, and even at all never them was.
