The majority of bad breath originate in oral local factors, by the emission of volatile sulfur compounds (VSC) from bacteria responsible for bad odor. Factors also influence the flow of saliva, food impaction between the teeth and diet.
Alkaline changes in pH of saliva and reduced concentration of oxygen lead to the putrefaction of saliva and the issuance of CVS responsible for bad breath. Similarly occurs during sleep, in which the flow of major salivary glands is minimal, and this favors the stagnation and implementation of mechanisms of putrefaction.
It is important to follow a proper daily oral hygiene:
* Brush your teeth with manual or electric toothbrushes in the morning, after meals and at bedtime.
* Use the best toothpaste and mouthwash to complete your hygiene.
* Do not forget to clean the interproximal dental silks and ribbons (indoor) or interdental brushes (open space).
Bad breath is a common problem, but the lack of information and the psychological barrier existing in the environment in this condition make it difficult for the patient to participate actively in the search for solutions. Do not stay without doing anything more embarrassing would not seek a solution and reach the point of inconveniencing others and negatively affect their interpersonal relationships. Taking good care of our body also goes through the mouth.
